Sales & Account manager

This position will work closely with the Telecom and IT divisions with oversight and support provided by our Sales Manager.

We are actively seeking the right person with a positive attitude and willingness to work hard to communicate and provide value for our clients in addition to seeking out and finding new IT and Telecom related sales opportunities.

This position will work closely with the Telecom and IT divisions with oversight and support provided by our Sales Manager.

Key Areas of Responsibility

New Business

  • Seek out new business/leads
  • Qualify leads
  • Work with Technical Team to assess and propose a solution
  • Finalize sale and initiate on-boarding activities
  • Ensure all relevant information is documented to assist with close
  • Ensure customer management software is updated
  • Meet and/or exceed targets/expectations

Account Management

  • Develop, grow, and maintain a relationship with new and existing accounts
  • Advise on and quote new opportunities
  • Advise on antiquated technology and propose an action plan to replace
  • Handle all quoting/sales for assigned accounts
  • Perform quality assurance checks, IT report cards, and review meetings with customers
  • Provide budgets for IT infrastructure over 3-5 years
  • Negotiate new contracts before the anniversary date
  • Ensure customer retention
  • Meet and or exceed targets/expectations
  • Perform other duties and tasks as required

Requested Skills and Experience

  • IT, telecommunications or other technical experience an asset but not required (on the job training will be provided)
  • B2B sales and customer service experience min. 2 years
  • Effective communication skills are a must (client communication, internal communication, project communication)

Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Compensation: Guaranteed base (based on experience) plus both recurring and target commissions.

Benefits Plan provided upon successful completion of the probationary period.

Travel Required.

This is a newly created position with CONNECT focused on expanding our product and service offering to a broader client base throughout the Okanagan. The successful candidate will enjoy establishing long-term relationships with clients using a consultative sales approach within, at times, complex IT and Telecom environments. Understanding business reasons/pain-points driving the need for IT will be more important than an in-depth knowledge of the different technologies.
