Connect Telecom is looking for a motivated and qualified Security Systems Technician to lead our new security division. We are a growing telecom company servicing the Lower Mainland and Okanogan looking to expand into the security industry.

Job Duties

  • Service & Installation of Access Control, Alarm, Video Surveillance, Networking & Integration, and Intercom Systems (Programming, Troubleshooting, and Prewiring)
  • A solid commitment to following safety procedures
  • Ability to write & maintain clear documentation
  • Willing to learn about new equipment & technology to best serve our clients

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Valid BC Driver’s License
  • Strong work ethic with problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work under pressure with tight time restraints
  • Ability to travel primarily within the Lower Mainland (valid driver’s license required) and short-term trips out of town when required
  • Must be proficient in English (written and spoken)

Qualifications

  • Certificate of Completion from BCIT Security Systems Technician training and/or relevant experience in the field
  • A valid Security Worker License from the government of BC, or the qualifications met to apply for the license
  • At least 3 years of experience installing security systems
  • Previous IT experience would be considered an asset
